TENDER NOTICE
INVITATION TO TENDER
RENOVATION OF FOOD PILOT PLANT
RFQ NO. SRC-2012/02/001
The Scientific Research Council (SRC) invites suitably-qualified contractor to submit bids for the ‘RENOVATION of the FOOD PILOT PLANT”, as per details outlined in the Tender Document.
1.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The intended works are geared at renovating critical areas of the Pilot Plant to increase efficiency and to improve production capacity. The Contractor will be required to provide labour and materials to:-
-
modify and repair entrance doors to the Plant
-
renovate/upgrade electrical circuits to accommodate new equipment
-
apply High Solid Epoxy paint to Plant interior
-
install new ventilation systems for the Pilot Plant associated with all electrical works
-
fabricate custom made double bowl sinks to be used as a soak bath
The contractor is to be guided by the bill of quantities included in the Tender Document.
2.0 ELIGIBILITY OF WORKS CONTRACTOR
The tender will be conducted through Local Competitive Bidding (LCB) and is open to all qualified local bidders satisfying the following criteria:-

Be on the list of Government-approved Works Contractor and registered at the time of bid submission with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) in either of the following categories- “Building Maintenance” or “Interior Construction Works.”

Be tax compliant and in possession of a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
3.0 COLLECTION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS
Bids must conform to Tender Pro Forma format enclosed in tender document. Bidding documents will be available Thursday, February 9, 2012 to Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the SRC Main Lobby, Administration Building, Hope Gardens, Kingston 6. A non-refundable payment of J$2,000.00 in cash or Manager’s Cheque payable to Scientific Research Council will be required for payment of bid package.
4.0 RECEIPT OF TENDERS
Completed tender documents should be placed in the Tender Box located in the lobby of the Scientific Research Council, Administration Building, no later than 1:30 pm on Monday, March 5, 2012. Bid envelope must be sealed, clearly marked and addressed to:

LATE BIDS WILL BE REJECTED.
5.0 TENDER OPENING
Tenders will be opened publicly on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Board Room, at the Scientific Research Council, Hope Gardens, Kingston 6. Tenderers and/or their representatives are invited to attend the opening.
The SRC reserves the right to reject any or all bids and is not obliged to accept the lowest bid.
