THE SCHOOLS SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SOCIETIES (SSTS) ANNUAL ORATORICAL COMPETITION
The first playoff of the Annual SRC Oratorical Competition (Speakers Forum), for senior High School students (grades 10-13) kicks off at the Cornwall College Auditorium, Montego Bay on Friday October 6, 2006 at 9am.
The competition was introduced last year and attracted a number of participants from Schools Island wide. The National winner Munroe Wisdom made his maiden presentation among outstanding scientists at the 19th Annual S&T Conference held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel during November, S&T month. Regional playoffs for this year are scheduled as follows:
Regional winners will vie for top places at the National Finals at the SRC Open House Day on November 10, 2006.
There is an exciting line-up of prizes this year for the winners, their teachers and schools.
The winner will also have the opportunity of making their award winning presentation at the 20th Annual S&T Conference at the Hilton Kingston Hotel during S&T month in November.
We invite all high schools to participate by registering two students from Grades 10-13.
The topic for this year is ‘Jamaica’s contribution to the CSM through Science and Technology’
